As a regular reader, I can guarantee that “celebration” and “Forest Essentials” are two words you were not expecting to read on my blog.
Admittedly less strange things have happened. ( I don’t know what these other events are, but I have the humility to admit these may exist).
Why are we celebrating?
It is a momentous occasion for Forest Essentials’ as it is the only Made in India brand available for sale on lookfantastic in the UK.
It means that Forest Essentials has to comply with European laws, including Good Manufacturing Practices for cosmetics (ISO 22716), which covers everything from storage facilities literally to batch testing.
Through my work, I have discovered that many Indians will not buy Made in India products because they have quality control concerns.
The inference is that Indians take short-cuts on quality control in manufacturing, which is horsehi*t because the maximum number of global vaccines and generic drugs are made in India and exported. Indians know quality control. And it is not a stretch to imagine that cosmetic manufacturing can replicate the highest standards of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Therefore, if you purchase European products, you can buy Forest Essentials.
What should you buy?
Before I answer this, please note that not all Forest Essential products are available for sale in the UK. And secondly, the pricing arbitrage is ridiculous. You are 100% better off buying from the Indian website of Forest Essentials and shipping it to your location, then buying from lookfantastic.
I’ve compiled “yes, I would buy this again” and “no, I would never touch this with a barge pool” based on my experience of using Forest Essential products.
There are many products that I am indifferent to or have not used and I have highlighted these separately.

I have used all of these products before and quite frankly I can’t see the point of any, except the kumkumadi night cream. My main issue with the kumkumadi night cream is that has the potential to be an amazing product but its not: there are stability issues, it stinks and looks like something my great-grandmother would have used. BUT its a great product. If you can get past the aesthetic issues, you will wake up the next day with a fresher looking young skin.
