Again, the best time to buy make up is the Black Friday sale. I have literally not used most of my make up for the past two years, which means most of it is past its “best before” or “used by” date.
I have only highlighted products that I have bought, because that really is the best suggestion. If you are not going to use it yourself – why would you suggest it to anyone else?
Star of the show in the value for money category…
Huda Beauty has not made any major announcements on its Black Friday sale, but I would keep hawkish eye out.
In 2020, this brand had 50% off full-sized eyeshadow and highlighter palettes, 40% off foundations and lip products. Also, if it has such deep-pockets as a brand that it has consistently offered big discounts throughout the year on make-up…so Black Friday should not be any different.
Personally, I love the Mercury Retrograde palette for its colours BUT not at all for quality. I am going to say it: I don’t like the quality of the eyeshadow palettes.
However, these make excellent gifts for younger and more adventurous girls in your life…
I would watch Huda Beauty’s instagram account for updates.
Anything from Natasha Denona…
I have made a few purchases from Sephora where I live and randomly selected the free samples that come with my purchase. To my utter surprise, the 2 free eyeshadow samples from Natasha Denona are of exceptional quality.
I will admit that I have the copper metallic product, but LOVE the dark rose pink product. Where I live, Natasha Denona is 30% off and this is what I have my eyes on.
Tarte eyelash curler and mascara
I use Shu Umera eyelash curlers – and its not that I have not tried other eyelash curlers – I have but keep going back to this iconic and original masterpiece. However, I love this eyelash curler. It has a spring action that forced my eyelashes up without much effort at all. I am not sure what I am more shocked by – the performance of the product or the price.
Pat McGrath
I cannot tell you how pleased I am that this is an excellent brand. The divine blush and liquid matte lipstick have completely alleviated the finish and longevity of my make up to another level. I love the products and it is primarily because of the quality and impeccable finish. I just don’t get the same commitment from other brands.
If you live in the USA, this is the brand’s Black Friday offering and its pretty much similar in other countries.
What am I buying?
I find that with blushers I have to buy a colour that is darker than what I would normally think suits me – thats because I have a dark brown skintone and lighter shades are lost on me. I was lighter skin toned when I lived in London, and some times I don’t make that transition in my head when I buy make up!
Finally, the liquid lipsticks from Pat McGrath are matte, non-drying and very intense in colour. They are also really suited to Indian skin tones. If you are not used to liquid lipsticks, then its always a good idea to use a lip pencil first and then use small amounts of the liquid lipstick. I have the Divine Rose colours and find that even light shades come out quite dark. Click on this link to purchase.
