I am testing Clinique’s micellar water offering, which came as a free gift as part of a Clinique promotion. What is immediately noteworthy is that the product says it will only remove “light make-up.”
What is a micellar water?
A micellar water is a very fancy name for a mild facial cleanser with the following characteristics:
I have tested 20+ micellar waters and written extensively about how they work on this blog. My top 3 micellar water suggestions are available at this LINK
In a nutshell, what I have learnt is this:
How have I tested today’s product>
I apply the same test to all my micellar waters. Essentially, how good is the micellar water at removing a patch of waterproof and non-water proof make-up.
After applying the Clinique micellar water
The Clinique micellar water is essentially a gel and I pressed it on the make up patch for 5 seconds, and swept across a few times to remove the make up. This is the outcome.
What do I think and will I be purchasing this product?
I can see why Clinique have been giving samples away. This is a rubbish make up remover – the only thing its really managed to remove is a light beige lipstick. The golden Kay Beauty eyeliner tends to come off quite easily with most micellar waters so I am genuinely surprised.
If this was a potential date you wouldn’t be bothering to swipe left or right, you would delete the app.
