It feels as if its ages since I wrote a “shopping” blog and honestly, we are not spending as much as we have done in the past. However, the few things that I miss about pre-pandemic conditions is genuinely browsing physical beauty counters.
Chantecaille’s Butterfly Collection
Chantecaille through their limited edition make-up sales support varies wildlife charities. I love the new Butterfly collection, because of shade 2, which is described as a “triple chrome with pink, green, and gold pearls.” The brand is supporting the protection of butterflies through Xerces Society and their Pollinator Program.
Carolina Herrera liquid lipsticks
One of my favourite clothing lines was Carolina Herrera until I realised that Ivanka Trump also favoured this brand. I think its time to bring CH out of the doghouse. It has recently launched liquid lipsticks and you can choose the cover (GBP 9). The emblems are a lionhead, turtle and bettle. I am not sure what the cultural or ideological connection (if any) the brand is trying to make, but I’ll take my chances with the lionhead!
Available for sale at Harrods. GBP 21 for the lip colour and GBP 9 for the cap.
Jimmy Choo sandals
At the wedding I attended recently, I sat next to two ladies and coincidentally we were all wearing Jimmy Choos.
I am not sure how I am going to go back to my Christian Louboutins post-pandemic, as I am clearly converting to a Jimmy Choo loyalist.
I love these hideously tacky, red, in your face sandals at the moment.
Available at the outnet for under GBP 200 in multiple sizes
Huda Beauty Mystery Bag
I managed to nab for under US$ 100, a Huda Beauty mystery bag. It does not disappoint….
The mystery bag is open for sale for (I think) 48 hours each year. If you rush, you can get it and the “mystery” is influencers are not given advance samples. Muhahahaha!
I relished that experience of not knowing what was in my bag and just trusting the brand’s judgment.
Apart from the hideously awful lip colour (for me personally), I am not at all disappointed. My favourite part is the actual bag itself!! I didn’t think I liked strobe bags (but I kind of do)….
I’ll attempt to give you the heads up when it comes on sale next year!
