Forest Essentials’ Noor Nikhaar Cheek Tint product review

Introduction

Forest Essentials’ shortly after International Women’s Day (my least favourite day of the month), launched a range of make up products, including these two cheek tints, in colours of pink (Gulaabi) and terracotta (Gerua).

According to the brand, “the formula of this cheek tint has a mousse-like texture that is perfect to blend and has buildable coverage.”

What is my experience of using the FE cheek tints?

In using all of these natural beauty make up products, I assess them in the same way that I would Lakme or Chanel. That is, as a colour cosmetic. I couldn’t care less if they were using Almond oil or Sunflower oil (sorry).

I can confirm that Forest Essential’s do not know what “mousse-like texture” means. This is a heavy dense formulation and has a LOT of oil in it. This is 2 hours after I squeezed the blobs onto the sheet of paper:

Ok, so for real what was my experience of using these tints?

It was awful.

The colours are so intense, that you need ONLY the tiniest amount to give you a lot of colour. This is how much buildable coverage I got out of a tiny small blob (same as the paper above) from the Gulaabi tint.

And if you are thinking that is HALF the tube, I promise you its not. The intensity of the cheek tints was really hard to work with. First, I kept squeezing out too much product and given the net content is only 10ml, these are not going to last long. We are not expert tube dispensers.

Second, because you are working with such small amounts, it doesn’t give you much control over which part of your cheek your using the product on.

It was a really difficult getting both cheeks to look similar.

Would I buy this product again?

I really like the Gulaabi cheek tint – the colour is great and it suits me – the finish is also matte(ish).

BUT, its really hard to work with. I have looked at numerous Instagram accounts of makeup influencers, and they all seem to be having the same problem. Of course, I am not a paid influencer but just a humble skincare blogger, so I can tell you that the design of these product tubes is fundamentally flawed. A narrower opening of the tube (easily fixed) would help.

I am not rushing out to buy this (ever again).
