Cyber Week Sale

During the run-up to Cyber Week, I am a woman obsessed with 100% buying the best deal. There is very little difference between myself (and my goal of most-discounted products) and a 13 month old toddler trying to walk: we are unfazed by repeated failure.

I did write a Black Friday Beauty Deals special and I do think I have given some sage advice here.

To that I’ll add, you’ll find heavy discounts (50%) on make-up and very expensive skincare. Otherwise, many brands are in fact opting of the Black Friday frenzy or simply offering 20%-30% which they do during the year anyway.

Its definitely a shift from discounting in previous years.

To this I am going to add the following bargains:

Cyber week – Black Friday – Sephora deals

On occasion, the deal on Sephora is much better than the actual brand’s website. Pat McGrath is an excellent example. All of these items are more expensive on her website (or out of stock)

From Left to Right

Pat McGrath Labs Celestial Odyssey Luxe Quad (reduced by 50% to about US$ 30)

Pat McGrath MOTHERSHIP: Diamond Of The First Water (Bridgerton Limited edition palette) (reduced by 50% to about US$ 53)

Eye palettes from Natasha Denona are on my list: they are 50% off at Sephora. Admittedly, some of the colours are completely useless, but if you use eyeshadows regularly, I would buy as many as I could

From Left to Right

Natasha Denona Mini-Sunset Palette (reduced by 50% so just under US$ 15)

Natasha Denona Zendo Palette (reduced by 50% to just under US$ 37)

Any shampoo or conditioner that is otherwise insanely out of my budget, is also on my list. Briogeo therefore makes it to shortlist

Finally, all make up brushes: you can never have enough make up brushes. Period. Huda Beauty have sets of eye make-up brushes for less than US$ 15. Click here for the link

Brand-specific Black Friday sales

From Left to Right

YSL TOUCHE ÉCLAT BLUR PRIMER (50% discount, or just under US$ 35)

ARMANI Luminous foundation (30% discount, coming just under US$ 70)

Most brands (as a result of COVID) have a decent online presence, and some – not most – will run at least a 30% promotional offer for this.

Legacy brands such as YSL, Chantecaille, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Armani Beauty are running promotions depending on your country of origin. These promotions are not scruffy, so before you head over to Sephora, cultbeauty etc do check these out

Why no mention of cultbeauty or lookfantastic?

I used to buy absolutely all my beauty and skincare products from these two websites, until I realised I was completely being whacked with additional costs.

Prices were adjusted upwards to be (in some cases) more expensive than what is available in the local market

I cannot tell you how much this viscerally offends me: I get the import fees, but really what overhead cost are you covering when you inflate your prices by 40%
