I will be applying this test to check whether you should purchase this product or not:
Harmful chemicals?
This contains both methyl- and propyl- paraben. I am not a fan of parabens (see Chemicals to Avoid – Parabens) and therefore, I would not use this product.
I respect your right to use this product and please continue reading.
This product has only skin lightening ingredient: Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate which is a derivative of Azelaic Acid and the amino acid, Glycine.
Azelaic Acid is traditionally used to treat rosacea and melasma.
No one disagrees that Azelaic Acid interferes with tyrosinase and therefore reduces melanin produced. This should lighten skin. However, I haven’t been able to find clinical studies/data supporting this as yet. Therefore, I am reluctant to recommend this product.
Even if you think I am wrong, the skin lightener is present at as the 7th ingredient next to the preservatives. I find it difficult to believe that this product has sufficient amounts of Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate to be effective. It is highly unlikely.
Therefore I will not be repurchasing this product.
