When I lived in London, I would frequently buy this product. It is cripplingly expensive so I won’t say it was a bathroom staple. In the UK its currently £42 for 200ml and where I live its £53 for the same product!
Physical attributes of the product
I am going to discuss the ingredients later, but I want to talk about the genius of this product. It has a faint powdery smell that’s has a hint of almond oil in it. The product blends in effortlessly (unike Aveda) and it feels as if your massaging a really dense nutrient rich product. There is a cooling effect if you apply the product on dry skin.
Overall, the sensorial experience of this product is superior to anything that Forest Essentials, Kama Ayurveda or Jo Malone produce. (I won’t list out all the body creams that I have used because we’ll still be here next Christmas).
The gist is this a beautiful body lotion/cream that feels rich and leaves your skin super-hydrated. Its great to use in cold weather, but also works in spring and autumn.
Would I buy this product again?
No.
I have attached two ingredient lists, highlighting the actual natural moisturising ingredients (emollients, humectants) that you think you are paying for, for both Kama Ayurveda and L’Occitane. As you can see Kama Ayurveda at nearly half the price of this product, has a superior ingredient list, including two types of butters and oils.
There are no prizes for guessing which is better for your skin. (It’s Kama by the way)
I have the option of buying Kama Ayurveda and I acknowledge, this is not feasible for everyone. But after what I have written, do you really want to pay double for glycerin and less almond oil, because be in no doubt that is what’s being supplied to your skin.
