It is the 11th day and its judgment day for this regime. See Product road test for more details.
Outcome
If you are thinking I’m two shades darker you are not wrong: I attribute that to (still) being viciously ill and not the products.
Without doubt, my pigmentation is visibly lighter across my face; pores are reduced in size, skin texture is smoothing out and my skin is softer and supple. Hopefully, you can see that from the photos. Therefore, the outcome is indisputably better….
BUT….always, a but..here are some comparison I did earlier:
Cons…
The lactic acid peel is drying. I had to constantly adjust my routine for 5 out of the 10 days because my skin felt super-tight and dry. My skin is returning to normal, but it will require some TLC to be restored to its normal self…
What additional steps did I take?
- I ditched the Clinique toner after day 1. I could feel the alcohol stinging my eyes and I was concerned it would make my skin even more dry. I used this toner (softener?) instead.
- For 5 days I was using prickly pear oil and Forest Essential’s day & night cream twice a day. I also ensured I was having 3 litres of water.
Verdict
The outcome is excellent: I have lighter pigmentation, my pores are smaller (causing skin to even out) and my skin is softer. So the product does what it says on the package.
But its expensive – GBP 145 for 10 days – and I am left with a skin barrier that needs repair. I have to be careful with the products I use going forwards and this is less than ideal for a skincare blogger.
This regime is not for the faint of heart or those that have a 5 minute routine. Your skin will dry; you need to constantly monitor it and adjust your routine. I was lucky enough not to get any pimples (because of all the extra product I was using), I can’t say that won’t happen for you.
Use it, but you have been warned to be cautious.
