Introduction
I want to reassure you that I’m not on Forest Essentials’ payroll, even though it would appear to be the case. If you read my scathing review of their excuse for a sunscreen product, you’d agree with me. (Here is the link).
(You can tell I’m British Indian, as I have to apologise before praising anyone or anything).
And this body mist (which I believe means it’s less intense than an EDT) is praiseworthy.
However, before I do review the perfume, can we talk about the absolute elephant in the room: Sunhere Din (??)
Really?
Was the only marketing person available to Forest Essentials’ someone from the Bhojpuri C grade film industry? Sunhere Din sounds like the name of a 100% shady nightclub in Lucknow.
Review
Please ignore the labelling on this product because it bears no correlation to the actual smell profile of this scent.
The top notes (what you smell when you spray the fragrance) are overwhelmingly sweet oranges. All you smell is citrus. The middle notes (what you smell after a bit) are soft floral jasmine and delicate sandalwood smell. The citrus smell is somewhere in the background, but it adds a hint of sharpness and is vaguely present like the rose. As this is an essential oil-based fragrance, the smell profile will change over time and inevitably will smell differently from person to person.
Closing
This perfume is genius: it does what so few perfume blends can do, as it successfully merges citrus and floral blends in one fragrance. I can only name about two or three other fragrances that can do this, so it’s not an easy task. And I have citrusphobia*: my nightmare perfume is Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino. The only downside of this body mist is that it does not transition well into an evening fragrance unless it’s a first date. It is 100% perfect for a date.
Available for purchase
The single-size unit available at Forest Essentials is 10ml for a pricey INR 695 for 10ml.
*citrusphobia is a made up word to mean hate of citrus smells
