Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask product review

The mask looks and smells like rose jelly – that’s the only thing I can think of. I’d like to stress that it seems to be a running joke with products that I order from the USA, that they are not at all as advertised. This is what my jar of rose jelly looks like.

Tata Harper resurfacing mask

The main ingredients are aloe vera (soothing, anti-inflammatory) and chemical exfoliants – naturally derived salicylic acid (salix alba (willow) extract) and lactic acid (lactobacillus ferment). Instructions are to apply a thick layer once a week for 20 minutes.

Obligatory before photo

After 20 minutes, the mask dried out as thin shiny layer as below.

It was quite bizarre taking the mask off – you can’t see the mask, but its kind of there and I think I used the water allowance of Idaho in removing it.

The mask is not at all irritating, although I did feel my was a tad sensitive after a couple of hours. Its almost as if I had the top of my skin scrubbed off. Therefore, my skin did feel tight, which is what you would expect after leaving on a chemical exfoliating mask for 20 minutes.

The brand recommends that this is a day and night mask. The only reason why I am using this during the day is so that I have a shot of taking a decent photo. Admittedly, my photography skills do need a miracle.

Would I buy this product again?

Yes.

Without doubt, my skin is brighter (compare my neck), softer and more receptive to the products that I apply. Were it not for the extortionate price (£57 for 30ml on cultbeauty), I would recommend that everyone use this.
