Eyeliners that are shiny and glittery

Over the years, I have seen glittery eyeliners come in and out of fashion.

These eyeliners have recently tended to be in a liquid format and if you’ve followed Urban Decay, then they are intermittently obsessed with different forms of glitter.

However, for the eyeliner to be both metallic and glittery is a relatively new format. Bobbi Brown for the longest time have done just metallic eyeshadow pencils (which tend to be thicker

However, Victoria Beckham quite recently introduced her Satin Kajal Liners, that have an element of glitter and are metallic.

However, beauty comes at a price – this is US$ 30 a pop excluding shipping + taxes

When I saw these, they immediately reminded me of the make-up brand Ciate, that recently discontinued eyeshadow pencils similar to see these. And of course, they reminded me of Katrina Kaif and Kay Beauty liners

Unfortunately this is not clearly visible as the Victoria Beckham liner – but I did take a photo on my hand as follows

The colour is green with flecks of gold as you can see. It is a longwear eyepencil – I have hooded eyes and have been testing it all week. I am happy that is of industrial strength.

Obviously, the quality of ingredients is not the same as Victoria Beckham – but nor is the price point.

Each kajal liner is Rs 479 on Nykaa which is about US$ 6.

For every 1 Victoria Beckham eyeliner I can buy five from Kay Beauty.

What other colours did I buy?

The other colours I ended up buying were Rose Gold and Gold. Quite frankly, neither suit me as much as the Olive Green one does.

You would hope that the Rose Gold and Gold could be repurposed as eyeshadows: unfortunately that’s not an option here, as they are industrial strength and pretty much don’t move, when once applied.

What else is in the market?

I noticed DIOR are making a bunch of these (but as you can see they are extremely underwhelming). So watch this space as I find more

And CHANEL do these inconsequential ombre shades

What am I testing next?

I will have to bit the bullet and test a few Victoria Beckham eyeliners and see how they compare with Kay Beauty…
