Forest Essentials eye cream product review

product feature image

To remind you, this was meant to be a 60 day product review, by the formidably serious and intense, Size 007 (see this LINK).

However, with the lockdown in India, things are a bit crazy and we couldn’t deliver the 60 day photo. (Clearly, if this is the first you have heard of “coronavirus causing disruption,” then which rock have you literally been living under? And is there room for 7bn people?)

Instead, Size 007 agreed to diligently use this product for a complete 90 days, which is a bonus for us!

The product being tested is Forest Essentials’ Intensive Eye Cream With Anise (INR 2,625) available at this LINK

Obligatory before photo

Obligatory after photo

I’d like to highlight 2 points:

First, there is a noticeable improvement in the fine lines that were developing right under the subject’s eyes as well as the crow’s feet.  Even though the photograph is not the best quality, you can also see an imperceptible amount of plumping and slight lifting in the eyelid area.

Secondly, there is no impact on the dark circles around Size 007’s eyes. In fact, its arguably the opposite.  Just to be clear I don’t believe the product is contributing to the dark circles, but the culprit is long hours of staring at a screen.

The additional feedback I have received is, “this is a good daily eye cream.  A lot goes a long way and the product is very hydrating.  But I do wish it also lightened my dark circles.  If I had no dark circles, this would be a good product.  My next eye cream will definitely be one that is focussed on dark circles.”

My view

It’s a 50 percent win for this product: it reduces fine lines, and ever so slightly plumps up and lifts the skin around the eyes. It does not however, diminish dark circles, which is one of the top three reasons why Indian women start to use eye cream anyway.

That’s it for today. I am sure Size 007 will return with a new mission once things calm down and normalise.
