Terminal end for Forest Essential’s men’s range?

A Toronto based subject had agreed to road-test Forest Essential’s men’s range. See this BLOG for more details. The products were:

  1. Hydrating Facial Moisturiser – Sandalwood & Orange Peel
  2. Sandalwood & Orange Peel Shaving Cream
  3. After Shave Sandalwood & Orange Peel

Ten days after the road-test I received this message.

I would highlight…”it may be the worst thing i’ve done to my face” as a resounding indictment of how unsuitable the product’s are for use by men (or anyone)..

These are the obligatory before and after photos:

phootos
  1. Redness across cheek areas and skin is flaking off because its so dry
  2. Pores have visibly enlarged – the skin is trying to over-compensate for a loss of hydration and in the process pores are enlarging.

Verdict

The Toronto resident filled out a user experience survey. Apart from their being no improvement in the person’s skin, I would highlight the “observations” section, which reads:

  • Product led to skin irritation, dryness and razor burns.
  • Long term use may result in increased ingrown hair while shaving
  • (The shaving foam, does not lather well) and makes it hard for the razor to glide effectively
  • Leaves skin very dry after shaving and causes burns

Could there be anything redeeming?

The face wash is pleasant to use but not worthy of repurchase…

I don’t have anything further to add because (i) the results speak for themselves and (2) use at your own peril…
