Forest Essentials skincare: Week Two update

Welcome to a week 2 update that’s so short, it could be on Twitter!

After week 1, I was concerned about my enlarging pores (I KNOW) as its pretty hard to make gigantic pores smaller. So, I changed my routine to use the Soundarya serum every alternate day. My skin doesn’t miss the excessive oil of this serum and it appears to have done the trick: the craters are no longer increasing in diameter!

My other observations are:

(1) I am consuming product at an alarming rate: in the attached photo you can see the “water line” of both the RASA activating serum and the TEJAL balancing water is easily at the 25 per cent mark….this will not last me another six weeks and has an impact on whether, “its worth my dime or time.”

(2) I used the Tejasvi brightening sheet mask last night and this accounts for my lighter skin tone today. The mask is pleasant to use and doesn’t have a strong, sickly smell like some of the other products from Forest Essentials. My only grip is there is TOO MUCH product left in the mask/on your skin after use. The instructions recommend rubbing the excess into your skin – I would suggest you don’t as there is just excessive product in the sheet.

If you are looking for a brightening mask before you either attend an event or put on your make up, then I suggest using the Tejasvi sheet mask. By law, all ingredients in a cosmetic product must be listed in order of concentration, so the first listed ingredient has the highest concentration of that ingredient in the product. For the Tejasvi sheet mask, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract (Mulethi) is the first ingredient and its a good old fashioned skin lightener.  It is a tyrosinase inhibitor – it blocks the path of an enzyme (tyrosinase) which is essential for the production of melanin.  Melanin gives our skin its colour and less of it, means lighter skin.

I’d love to hear about your Forest Essential’s product experience too!
