Forest Essentials skincare: Week Three update

Welcome to week 3 and for a “Fortter” update. A Fortter is what happens when Twitter reacts with Forest Essentials (FE). Admittedly, its not quite viral as “covfefe” but (thankfully) I am no Trump.

My main points are:

  1. I tried the Ojas sheet mask and I have attached a “before” and “after” photo. If this mask was a man, he would be the equivalent of a young George Clooney – the mask imparted an excellent glow and I was surprised by how hydrated my skin was. As evidence, I present Exhibit 1 – I have very fine lines under my eye in the “before” shot and less so in the “after” shot and as an extra miles bonus, my pores have closed. The liquid in the mask (which the brand pompously refers to as “serum,”) has a better consistency then the Tejasvi mask (which as you may recall is akin to drowning in a South Korean lake rather than a mini-facial).
  2. The Soundarya serum still bothers my pores – they still have not returned to normal. Therefore, I have decided to change my routine (again). I will use the serum every night along with the Eternal Youth Formula Date & Litchi cream, which has a lighter weight formulation compared to the Soundarya cream. I am demoting the Soundarya cream to a day moisturiser and honestly, I have been reluctant to do this as the Soundarya cream has a heavy oud like odour, which others have said is um, awful.
  3. You may have noticed I don’t exfoliate: it is age and I simply dislike the harshness of FE’s exfoliators. If I wanted to use Scotch Brite on my skin…guess what, its a cheaper alternative. Mild acid exfoliators are good alternatives to the Scoth Brite’s of this world.

The only other observations I have are:

  1. It occurred to me that I was using the products as directed to me by the sales assistant, who was exceedingly helpful and didn’t say to me, you can’t experiment with how or when you use products – and that’s what I am doing now.
  2. I thought I was the only one taking terrible photos of FE products – but it turns out, the brand’s social media profiles doesn’t have many photos of their product. Could it be the completely illegible font? Perhaps FE need to find a font like BYREDO???
  3. There is nothing “Eternal” about the Date & Litchi Eternal Youth Cream – yes, I get its marketing, but no one is looking for the Eternal path/salvation/glory in a moisturiser with an expiration date.

Till next week!
