NIVEA facewash for mixed to oily skin

In deciding whether or not to use a facewash, I apply this quite rudimentary and basic test of my own design:

1) What are the cleansing agents (surfactants) present?

Product NameSurfactant 1Surfactant 2Surfactant 3Surfactant 4Surfactant 5HumectantPreservativesPreservatives
Nivea face wash ocean algae & Hydra IQ (mixed to oily skin)Sodium Laureth Sulfate (3rd)Coco-glucoside  (9th)PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate (10th)Glycerin (2nd), Glyceryl Glucoside (I think a humectant as well)

Sodium Laureth Sulfate provides good and copious foam. Cocoglucoside (which is also used in natural skincare formulations) is also a mild surfactant.

The main surfactant present is Sodium Laureth Sulfate with a supporting role for other surfactants. Its important to remember that this means the product is advertised: suitable for combination to oily skin. It would be too strong a product for those with sensitive skin. Its important to remember to use the right product.

2) Does the product have a good preservative system?

This product does not rely on these dreaded preservatives and therefore has a decent preservative system. The dreaded preservatives I am referring to are:

3) Does the product have glycerin?

Yes, the second ingredient is in fact, glycerin!!

4) Does the product irritate or dry the skin?

The product does not smell as nice as the other NIVEA facewash, but its even less drying than the first NIVEA facewash that I used. Even though it is for combination to oily skin and I have normal skin, it did not strip me of oil/sebum on my skin.

What is my view?

I really liked this product: it does not smell as good as the other NIVEA facewash but the smell is inoffensive. What I would say is that the exfoliating beads are a bit too much for every day use. I would limit my use of this product to once a day at the most..
