I want to shift part of my focus in these shopping guides to generally sustainable and second-hand purchases at a discount. Therefore, going forwards as much as possible, my key mantra will be, “is this second-hand in pristine condition?” or “is this at a discount?” or “am I supporting a small business?” against the backbone of sustainability. Yoox might be a website that you’ve never heard of and even doubt its authenticity. It is 100 percent authentic merchandise that sells items at a discount, with the following catches:
- You must have the patience of the titan, Atlas, who holds the weight of the world on his shoulders, in trying to find a bargain, mainly because there is too much choice. Oh, and the search functionality is useless.
- For example, if I look up Jimmy Choo “footwear,” I have to look in 3 places: Designers, Sale, and Clearance (and occasionally, New Arrivals)
It’s hilarious because this website has hundreds of Jimmy Choo pairs at a sizeable discount, but you would never have guessed.

This shopper’s paradise for second-hand luxury goods is incredible. You can buy anything from a brand new Hermes, Dior or Louis Vuitton handbag to an Anya Hindmarch bag.
Fortunately, the search function on this website does work and these are the filters.

I am strange. If you drink out of my glass or use your cutlery to serve from a communal dish, I literally will stop eating. That is the level of “ickness” I have and all my friends and family know this. Therefore, when someone suggested second-hand make-up and skincare, my appropriate response was “eew.”
However, you can search for “unused” make-up and skincare on glambot. And used products are professionally sanitised before sold on (but I am not bought onto this idea).
