rms beauty lipstick

Never heard of this brand….

This is a proper clean beauty brand which combines skincare with make-up. Therefore, the make-up line has proper oils, butters etc which are beneficial to the skin. It also takes great pains to keep the list as of ingredients as natural as possible, but then doesn’t compromise on performance (has silica in many products).

I have been following this brand for many years now, when it literally had a few products, to the current explosion of foundation, blush, lipsticks etc.

We simply need more thoughtful products.

What am I reviewing?

This is a product review of rms beauty’s wild with desire lipstick (US$ 28), which I bought in the sale from Net-a-Porter (for about US$ 22).

What’s inside?

As you would expect, the ingredient list is quite different to the Huda Beauty lipstick that I looked at in this blog

The main difference in the composition of this lipstick vs other natural lipsticks is the amount of natural extracts present. You would get the benefit of these natural extracts if you regularly applied the lipstick.

The natural extracts are:

Other ingredients and their function are as below:

What’s my impression of the lipstick?

  • The first thing that hits you is the smell – it has an barely perceptible old-fashioned wax smell that lingers on for a few minutes. I don’t have any strong feelings about it, but its there
  • Its a deeply pigmented lipstick and matches normal lipsticks here
  • As a bonus, the texture and feel is much improved when compared to kjaer weiss. See blog below.
  • It does feel a bit heavy on the lips but nothing that is a deal breaker.
  • The dark colours are difficult to apply without skill and a lip pencil and if you are not careful, the colour seeps out. I accidentally put my hand on my mouth about an hour application and you can see the transfer mark. It goes everywhere.

Would I buy this again?

I would buy this brand again – perhaps not this lip colour and would be more careful in application.

This lipstick is simply not for me, because I lack the skill to apply something like this. Period. It is my loss entirely.
