Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask

This is my first product review of Tatcha, a Japanese line of skincare, that originates from the USA. The products are Made in Japan, but the largest market is very likely the USA, where its an extremely popular and a highly regarded skincare brand. My only excuse for not reviewing products sooner are lack of availability outside the USA and also, its pretty expensive.

The product I am reviewing cost me US$ 30 and its a 9g product. Being the Indian that I am, that’s nearly US$ 3.5/g, which is a lot.

Instructions

These are fairly straightforward:

-Massage a generous, even layer onto clean, dry lips and leave on. Don’t rinse off.
-Can be used any time, but right before bed is ideal.
-For best results use for at least one week.

What was my experience of using this?

My experience was net positive. Despite the greasy look, the skin feel is light-weight. There is no real smell (which suits me fine, as fragrances can irritate the area around the lips).

It does do the job of really hydrating your lips (even if they are super dry like mine).

The best thing about the mask is that it literally hydrated and made my skin look better after just 3 hours. I have used many lip masks and I can assure you that has never happened.

Would I buy this again?

My biggest bug bear is the price: its a USD$ 30 mask and honestly, I have tiny thin lips and I can easily see this lasting 3x a week for about 2 months easily.

If I had fillers or medium sized lips, this may not even last more than 2 weeks and then it would be a waste of time.

I would buy this because the results are great BUT the ingredient list is nothing to write home about at all. So, if you are into products that deliver on performance this is a great product.

If you care about the contents of your product – well there are no harmful chemicals but no chemicals that I would say “wow, I am so glad this is here. “
