What did I buy in the Black Friday sale?

This year’s Black Friday bargains are honestly, quite ridiculous, ranging from a £2 bargain to 50%+ discounts. You should be weary of buying previous seasons stock, because this is a great opportunity for brands to flog excess stock.

What I have my eyes on/or have already bought are/were cheaper because of a combination of things:

  • Cheap/Free shipping and returns
  • Low import taxes
  • Removal of sales tax/VAT at source
  • An operative discount of (e.g) 15% or more.

Pat McGrath US$ 12 lipsticks

I normally pay £35 for a 4g Pat McGrath lipstick. This is a ridiculous price and I wonder what the financial analysts at Pat McGrath know that we do not. Anywho, here is the LINK. This is a separate promotion from the tiered 20%-35% for Cyber Week depending on how much you spend.

DR. DENNIS GROSS SKINCARE DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro

Dr Dennis Gross Faceware

The features of this device that attract me are that its use is 3 minutes only. It also includes 100 red LED lights (that stimulate collage production and help reduce wrinkles) and 62 blue lights (which destroy acne causing bacteria and future breakouts). It has three treatment modes: red light, blue light and red and blue light therapy.

This retails at £430.00 (including 20% VAT) on cultbeauty. The final price I pay is £269 which is a saving of 38% on a product that I have never seen on sale. There will be an import tax, but its usually 5% or about £15.

Available at cultbeauty. Discount code is SPREE25 for 25% discount.

Huda Beauty palettes

Most of Huda Beauty’s 50% Black Friday offers are sold out. However, I have bought the Rose Gold Remastered Eyeshadow for US$ 32.50 (a 50% discount) and I paid no shipping. Delivery was next day, so prompt as well.

Colours are here

Available only at Huda Beauty

Net-a-porter

Net-a-porter are offering free shipping for the duration of the Black Friday weekend, which I will be honest, drastically influences my purchasing decision from them. While they don’t offer the biggest discounts, I feel confident that when I buy from them that the product will be in excellent condition. Also, the website has exceptional customer service and returning is easy as pie. I am going through a phase where I fear I am getting old and perhaps have not lived my life as I thought I would.

Earrings

PACHAREE Spring Vine gold-plated, pearl and peridot earrings. The price on the UK website is originally £460 and after excluding VAT@ 20% the earrings work out at £210 where I live. This includes a marginal import tax and of course, the free shipping helps. The savings are 54%

Shoes

BY FAR Jackie patent-leather sandals. The price on the UK website is originally £295 and it works out at £135 for me. That’s a saving of 54% (and I have low import taxes, free shipping and zero VAT to thank). Given I wear a lot of sandals, this is fantastic news for me.
