Your Good Skin Anti-Oxidant day cream SPF 30

In my previous blog, I’ve spoken about how it is difficult to find a good moisturiser mainly because there is a big gap between:

  • what we expect of a moisturiser
  • what it can actually do.

I have come up with this criteria, to check how many of the ingredients are present

In addition, I am looking for skin feel, texture, absorbance and fragrance.

YourGoodSkin is a British brand – found in Boots pharmacy stores

What do the ingredients look like?

This product has anti-oxidants in the form of Vitamin C (Ascorbyl Glucoside, Green tea extract), anti-inflammatory (Bisabolol) and Panthenol which provides deeper moisturisation. Honestly, not much to write about here.

Note that there are a number of UV filters, indicating that the product is structured more to provide protection against UV radiation rather than moisturising.

Skin feel, texture, absorbance and fragrance

Product blends in really well, has minimum fragrance, is light textured and is hydrating.

Is fine for summer but too light weight for winter.

Would I buy this product again?

No, its a rubbish moisturiser based on the ingredients alone and it contains BHT. Its the policy of this blog not to use products that contain BHT.

I like David Suzuki’excellent explanation, which is, “Limited evidence suggests that high doses of BHT may mimic estrogen, the primary female sex hormone and prevent the expression of male sex hormones, resulting in adverse reproductive effects.”
