What are the new things that this calendar contains?
I have reproduced 2022 list below – and highlighted the brands (not products) that appear in 2023
This calendar has a lot of new brands and the brands that don’t participate are actually going to be missed.
Comparing both last year and this year’s list of products, it’s my opinion that last year (2022) provided better products.
What is my impression?
At £250, you are getting about £800-£1000 worth of value (even if I apply a 20% discount).
There is no doubt you get value for money.
BUT what I want you to consider is this:
- How many of these products are you hand over heart going to use?
- What are you going to do with the remaining products?
I will answer those Qs in my context.
There about 15 skincare products, of which there are only few top end / luxury brands. These are Augustinus Bader, Dr Barbara Strum, Dr Levy, Sunday, Riley and Votary. Out of these, I am not going to use the Sunday Riley Glycolic Acid Treatment.
That means there are about 4 products out of 30+ products that I most definitely will use.
I don’t like the other body / hair / make up products. Period. Most of the products are TRAVEL SIZE making it difficult to either sell or gift them.
Personally, they are very likely to end up in a landfill for me.
By that I mean there were a ton of products in last year’s list that I would have used. Finally, there is this huge emphasis on hair products in this year’s calendar. I don’t want haircare products in my advent calendar – I want skincare or high end make up. Period.
The other point I would make is there are TOO MANY travel size products in this year’s calendar.
I don’t know if the negotiation team at cultbeauty has changed, but definitely the SPACE NK calendar is the better choice. It doesn’t even feel like a competition.
