This is a product review of net-a-porter’s advent calendar which I have been buying for 2 consecutive years for my besties and there have been no complaints.
HOWEVER, I am extremely disappointed that the 2021 calendar was also on sale in January 2022 at 50% off. I don’t think that’s ever going to happen again (brand’s will generally get better at doing things).
How much does it cost?
In the UK this calendar cost £260 (vs £255 in 2021).
Where I live it cost £320 + local customs, which makes it 27% more expensive
Does it ship globally?
Yes it does! And given the value of the calendar, shipping is usually complimentary or about USD 10 – USD 20
What’s inside the calendar?
This calendar is essentially mainly skincare products for the face. They are high-end luxury skincare products, mixed with a few crap products (really, Wandler Beauty and This Works)
There are 25 products and the break down is as follows:
- Skincare for the Face: 9 products
- Make up: 5 products
- Body: 5 products
- Hair: 1 product
- Home (candles) etc: 1 product
- Other: 3 products
Would I buy this calendar?
On the price alone I would not even think of buying this calendar. Its ridiculous that I should pay £60 (+ £10 local customs) more for this calendar. Its out of the question.
Also, this calendar is a poor shadow of last year’s goodies (which you can see at the link below)
My experience last year was excellent. I was really stunned at the brands inside AND that there were so many full sized products – the fact that I used about 70% of the calendar was also an added bonus.
I would say that this year, the net a porter beauty advent calendar has less products that I want to use.
I don’t like the fact that there are only 9 face products and not all are full-sized. Also, these are not the best brands around. I am disappointed. The Liberty calendar offers a a better selection of products then this calendar.
