The White Company Advent Calendar 2020 review

The White Company is quintessentially British and I like to think of it as the more affordable version of Jo Malone. I believe the brand that started out in home fragrance. The product I bought most from this brand is a stuffed rabbit, for many a friend (or their children to be precise). This is one of the few home fragrance/fragrance heavy calendars. The others are Jo Malone, Jo Loves, Diptyque and Acqua di Parma.

But, first what is and Advent calendar?

“Advent” means Coming in Latin and an advent calendar counts the days to Christmas. Such calendars have individually numbered drawers and in the countdown to Christmas, you open a drawer/day and it will reveal a present (e.g.) a candle or soap etc.

Assumptions: Many of the products in the Advent calendar are unavailable on the website (discontinued or festive specialities) and therefore I have made some assumptions about pricing. The main assumption is there is price uniformity amongst different categories. E.g. a 140g candle will cost the same irrespective of the fragrance. The same assumption holds for most other categories. Also, where a product is on sale on the White Company’s website, I have taken the website price.

What do I think?

Surprisingly, this product has more bodycare products (so, shampoo, body-wash, body lotion etc), then I was expecting. You really need to like the 16 bodycare products (listed below) to buy this calendar. There are only 6 home products (see below).
